Steam Deck OLED won't turn on
I was playing on my Steam Deck OLED when it suddenly shut off. After that, it wouldn’t turn back on.
This actually happened once before, and I fixed it by disconnecting the battery and holding the Power button to discharge/reset it. This time, that also seemed to “help” at first — the Steam Deck logo appeared on the screen, but then it immediately shut off again and hasn’t turned on since.
Now, when I try to power it on, the white LED blinks rapidly in a strange way and then turns off. The screen stays black and the fan doesn’t spin. You can see this in uploaded video or Video 1 (youtube link).
I also removed the battery and connected the Deck directly to the original charger. The LED blinks differently, but the result is the same: no screen, no fan, no boot. You can see this in Video 2 (youtube link).
After that, I tried another brand-new, fully charged battery with another known-working charger, but nothing changed. When the battery is installed and the charger is connected, the LED turns green.
BIOS does not open. Boot menu does not open.
Things I’ve already tried:
- Battery storage mode/battery saver reset: Volume Up + “...” button then unplugging the charger and so on
- BIOS/CMOS reset: Volume Down + “...” button, then tapping Power and waiting until blue light starts blinking. I left it like that for about 6 hours, but the blue LEDs just kept blinking indefinitely. Reconnecting the charger and trying to power it on afterward didn’t help.
- I also disconnected the SSD, but that didn’t change anything either
Has anyone run into this issue before? Is there anything else I can try?
