Voluntary Hysterectomy? Positives and Negatives. Please help
I 36F am considering a Hysterectomy.
We have recently found out that I am unable to have children naturally (IVF was suggested but that's not a road I want to go down) to end the chapter for good I am seriously considering getting my tubes tied and just be done with the miscarriages and the uncertainty.
The thing is, I also have Adenomyosis and my periods are horrendous, every second or third one I am bed bound and it's been this way since I was 10. Yesterday I spent ALL day in bed in so much pain, nothing was working. Then after some particularly painful cramping I passed what seemed to be about half of my lining. I'm so over it.
This thing that isn't even useful to me is affecting my life. I have to go through this every other month for God knows how long for NOTHING.
I am considering a Hysterectomy but people in my life are giving me mixed opinions. I want to hear from people who have actually had it done, especially at a similar age. I know your body goes through a lot with the hormone changes and there is hormone replacements.etc.
Can I get some advice please?
Edit: I work in a hospital that focuses on Gynaecology and have a surgeon lined up who I have discussed this with so I cannot see issues with being "allowed" to get this done. It's more am I missing any red flags with wanting this?
