Hey! I want to install a pool for my parents (East York, Toronto), but I don’t want to get ripped off.

It’s important to me that pool isn’t too deep and also accessible for people with limited mobility, plus it should have insulation and lighting. Now I think it'll be 14x28 inground pool with fiber, ~5 ft deep, plus light n heating. Budget is up to 250k including HST, and ideally, I’d also like to add some basic landscaping around the pool. I know that pools are usually kinda pain in the neck - it’s complicated, labor-intensive, and so on- but this isn’t about practical considerations - it’s about the fact that my parents DREAMED of having their own pool their whole lives, and my goal as a loving son is to make them happy. They used to go to public pools, but now (because of their age), it’s getting harder and harder for them to go far from home - which is exactly why I decided that now is the best time. Any advice or recommendations?

Im from US but 3 years ago moved to Canada with my wife, and now it’s time to repair the roof on her parents’ house, which she inherited. I’ve dealt with roof repairs in US before, and it wasn’t a very pleasant experience (took a long time, was expensive, etc., but I understand that every situation is unique, and I was probably just unlucky). Anyway, can anyone tell me - is the roofing industry in Canada any different from the same industry in USA? What should we expect?
