Yo! It's Scott Chu, Nate Schwartz, and the Pitcher List crew here to talk some fantasy baseball
- Lost your catcher? Here are the guys I'd focus on in a single-catcher league
- Shallow: Moreno, Ruiz
- Deeper: Stephenson, C. Jensen, or Kelly
- Carson Benge isn't going to hit a ton of homers or steal a ton of bases, but as a leadoff guy for the Mets he COULD score a bunch of runs.
- Gavin Sheets is a streaky lefty power guy who does a stretch like this every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Great streamer but not likely a long-term hold.
- Bo Bichette had two MASSIVE games against the Nats. Let's see if the power sticks around. Not sure what to make of a guy who suddenly nearly doubled his barrel total in one series.
- I'm not interested in Dylan Crews, especially not in 12-teamers, even if you have 5 OF.
- Brayan Rocchio is outperforming his expected stats in a big way over these last 14 games, so I'm not going to count on the high SLG to stick around, but the improved plate discipline should help the batting average stay useful and the six steals in those 14 games is intriguing. Perhaps he could finish the year hitting .250-.260 with 10 HR and 20 SB? It ain't exciting, but it's honest work.
- Great to see Sal Stewart hitting again. Breaking a slump after just two weeks is all we could ever ask for, and the plate discipline stayed strong throughout. This still looks like a guy who can go 30 HR/20 SB with 90 RBI and a .265 AVG.
- I just compared Fernando Tatis Jr. to 2024-25 CJ Abrams from an overall production perspective, in case you're wondering what to do with him.
- Jackson Merrill seems like he's OK (though news is nonexistent at time of this writing) health-wise, but he's dropped to a point in my rankings where there might be something more exciting on the wire in 3 OF formats. If you're in a deeper one with 5+ OF, though, you're just stuck hoping and praying.
- Gunnar Henderson is still giving us power, but our PLV metrics think he's turned into a poor decision-maker with poor contact skills. That combo doesn't turn into top-50 hitters, so something needs to change.
