When you started shopping around for home/flood insurance quotes, who did you reach out to? I'm new to this & looking for some guidance!

I know a lot of folks like to hate on Kenner, but I'm looking for some insight into what daily life is like over there, specifically North Kenner. Townhome prices are much cheaper and there are options with a yard (actual grass!), which is very attractive to me since I have a large dog. I'm in my mid 40s and am honestly looking for a quieter life, but I do worry about meeting people my age/with similar interests living in the burbs as opposed to the city.

I'm considering buying a home in the Huntlee Village area of Algiers. Anyone have experience living in this area? What do you like/dislike about it?

I'm in my mid 40s, single, and work Uptown. I don't mind having to drive for errands & nightlife, as I'm a bit of a homebody who prefers to have a yard & be in a quieter area.

I'm planning to drive from New Orleans to upstate NY (like 20 hrs) in a Prius V with a large dog. Any tips for sleeping in car and/or free camping/parking spots along the way? Solo woman, mid 40s if that matters.
