Platelets

So anyone else in my boat? I’m 47 (m) compensated cirrhosis. When I started my journey my platelets were in the low 60’s. Last February they had risen to 123K over the course of a year and I was so excited. First 80, then 110 then 123. Today my labs had me back down to 92K. My head is spinning as I thought I was getting a handle on this and now I’m seeing this drop in number. I don’t know if I should be freaked out or not. I have dropped 25lbs in the past 3 months on zepbound - but I don’t know if that contributes to this or not. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Who else is compensated and coping??

So been a while since I put a post like this up. I’m 47 male, dx about a 1.5 years ago. I have biopsy proven cirrhosis and 14 HPVG for portal hypertension. I’m blessed to say I’m fully compensated - I would not have known I even had something wrong except for a low platelet alert on a random physical….then down the rabbit hole I went and landed with compensated cirrhosis. I recently have started Zepbound as well and I am curious to see if this helps future scans and labs. Overall my labs are close to a non-cirrhosis patient - which again makes digesting all of this so much harder. I’m just curious who is else is in my boat and how do you manage the day to day. I have my next labs and MRI coming up in a few weeks and after having an LR-3 on my first one - ended disappearing - I know have PTSD right before the’s bi-annual tests. Thinking of everyone that is going through this!

Has Zepbound/Tirzepatide Improved anyone?

I started Zepbound two months ago and have been finding a lot of studies and research that tirzepatide (Zepbound) is actually getting documented to improve fibrosis and sometimes regression in f2 and f3 with strong suspicion it may help f4 like myself. I’m not looking for medical advice - just curious if anyone has stories to share. I have my next set of labs in 2 weeks and my MRI at the end of the month - curious if I will see any improvement…crossing fingers but staying realistic too. God bless everyone!

How do you all cope w/ the anxiety from the ongoing testing?

I’m waiting for my 5th MRI in a few weeks. I was just curious if there are others like me that get super anxious ahead of your 6 month scan and labs?? My first MRI after dx had an LR-3 - which turned out to be nothing - but getting that after your initial diagnosis has given me PTSD every time I have to go. I know it’s better to know - but the waiting and anxiety is crippling.

6 month MRI is almost here…ugh!!!

So I’m a 47 male, compensated and no symptoms as of now. I have my next 6 month MRI at the end of the month and it’s starting to give me anxiety. I’m so afraid either the scan or labs is going to give bad news. How do you all cope this this anxiety every 6 months. This is now my 5th or 6th one. Love to hear your thoughts.

Trying again…fellow Zepbound users?

I’m curious to talk w/ any other compensated cirrhosis folks that have used Zepbound to support their liver health. Did labs go up or down? Love to hear your experiences.

Zepbound/Mounjaro w/ Cirrhosis

So I’m two months on zepbound and I have compensated cirrhosis and overall feel perfectly health (I’m so blessed). My liver specialist was not happy with how my weight was going so suggested I see an endocrinologist and talk about GLP-1 treatment. Since on the medication I have lost over 15lbs in about two months. My question is - anyone in the same situation and how has that changed your labs? Did you see improvement? I just hope that lack of eating also doesn’t make my numbers go in the wrong direction and I get pulled of the medication - this really has been a life changing event for me. Love anyone’s experiences - I know we are not doctors and can’t give medical advice. Thanks so much!

Anyone on an GLP-1?

My heptaologist and endocrinologist put me on Zepbound about a month ago. I have cirrhosis - not 100% sure if it was due to fatty liver that resolved or alcohol - both could be the culprit separately or together. Sober for 3.5 years and overall my numbers have been stable from appointment to appointment with well compensated cirrhosis (thank you Lord). I was just curious if anyone on here has also been put on a GLP-1 and if it did anything for your labs at your next check up? I didn’t even think I could go on something like this, but my doctor was telling me they have studies showing this can help improve liver function, reduce inflammation and in many cases see enzyme numbers improve. Not looking for medical advice just real life experiences. Thanks so much!
