Was it really that good?
Honestly i know we’re past Wicked era now but i’m just wondering were people actually impressed by Ariana’s vocals during Popular? Like I just compared hers with Kristin Chenoweth (which may or may not be fair ig) and to me Ariana sounds completely flat but as someone that has a musical theatre background is classically trained and had operatic vocal training to prepare for the role how come she still sounds so..pop star like??
I myself got into theatre singing and kinda find myself struggling to sing pop songs so maybe it has to do with the fact that they’re both different techniques of singing but then again she’s had experience singing in that theater way.
Everybody else that has played Glinda sounds way better than she does. I wonder if it’s because her diaphragm is not being used correctly or maybe because her belt technique is not developed enough??
Idk I’m just randomly ranting but to bring it to the point my question is: Did she ever have a vocal teacher that actually taught her how to engage her voice? Because all that hootin and hollering she used to do back in the days + the jaw acting she still does in comparison to how she sounds now is really baffling to me.
