New Crab Parent
Hello,
I just purchased a crab from a boardwalk in a painted shell in hopes of helping it. I immediately got it into a safe habitat not the novelty "condos" that come with purchase. I also immediately gave it multiple shell options and once it left its painted shell, immediately removed the shell from the habitat into the trash. Since I am a new parent of a crab who I am assuming is adult due to large size, I would love some advice and product recommendations!
Here is a list of the supplies I own:
-Hideout with 2 food bowls
-4 water and food dishes
-Hermit crab climbing wall toy
-Mossy crab climbing toy
-Natural coconut fiber substrate
-Thermometer and humidity gauge
-Hermit crab enclosure terrarium
-Terrarium
-Hermit crab sand substrate mixed with coconut fiber
-11 extra shells
-Hermit crab soil
-Hermit crab pellets
-Saltwater conditioner
-Freshwater conditioner
-Dried mealworms
-Ready-to-use sea salt water
