Filling out housing details as a lodger (London)
Hi, I'm making my claim and having some difficulty, as I'm a lodger with a live-in landlord without a tenancy agreement - I pay very fair rent below the taxable amount to a friends mum on a casual monthly basis, she's essentially doing me a temporary favour while I get my feet on the ground. In the "About where you live" section, the only option I find vaguely applicable is "I rent from a private landlord," except this isn't the case at all... Is this the right option, and will there be options to clarify my position further down the line? My other worry is that I will need to notify her of my application in order to secure a tenancy agreement. As I say, the family I live with is doing me a big favour and I would rather avoid placing any paper work on her. Rent is currently covered by the part-time work I've managed to source, but not a lot else. I'm desperately looking for more work but it's been a nightmare - as it happens, pride still gets tied up in stuff like this doesn't it... Any suggestions or pointers would be massively appreciated, thanks!
