Hi all, my lap surgery is scheduled for next week and I am honestly terrified. I've never had surgery or anesthesia before (had a bad experience with nitrous oxide as a kid at the dentist where I started screaming) - the idea of being "put out" is really unsettling to me. I'm scared of not waking up after.

I also don't know what the surgery will find, I've been having weird symptoms in my pelvic area for almost 2 years now (they think it's a swollen inguinal lymph node), and I am just hoping to god it's not anything serious. My body is in fight or flight mode and as much as I'm dreading it, I know I have to get it done because I'm so miserable living with whatever this is.
