Internationally trained SLP looking for advice in Toronto

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice or recommendations about organizations in Toronto that may be open to internationally trained Speech-Language Pathologists while someone is still improving their English communication skills.

I’m originally from Chile, where I worked for 15 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist in schools and with children with special needs. Spanish is my native language, and I recently moved to Canada. I’m currently registered with SAC as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), and my credentials have also been evaluated by WES.

At this stage, I’m mainly looking for support roles, assistant-type positions, community-based programs, or environments where internationally trained professionals can continue gaining experience while improving spoken and written English.

My reading and listening comprehension are strong, but I’m still working on becoming more confident speaking and writing in English.

If anyone has suggestions about clinics, schools, daycare programs, community centers, or organizations that may be open to this type of background, I would truly appreciate your advice or experiences.

Thank you so much!
