Is it advisable to narrow the width of delays on leads for club play?
I've seen a few producers do this in tutorials and the reason they give is that in a club delay on full width can sound too wide and unpleasant.
Is that true? Do any of you guys reccommend narrowing the delay width or do you keep it on full width?
Is it just me or is everyone layering leads just because that's what they see everyone else do? To my ears, when I produce, one lead sounds sufficient; maybe 2 with the second an octave higher. Can someone explain why people layer? All i see them doing is flicking through presets and stacking similar sounding supersaw leads one on top of the other in the same octave and creating a noisy, fizzy mess in a lot of cases.
