They are saying the whole Las Anod conflict (2023) was a scam after one of the most prominent rebels (Fahiima Quuje) defected to Somaliland last week.

It's obvious how the government of Somalia was directly responsible for the 2023 Las Anod conflict by putting Somalilanders against each other. This former rebel turned MP in Las Anod parliament and now defected to Somaliland, and many others were victims of this; they were told that Somaliland was responsible for the unresolved assassinations in their city. Then there are the many others who were bought and paid for to stir the pot.

I'm happy that the conflict is over and people are realizing the wickedness of the Mogadishu/Somalia government and returning to their country, Somaliland.

Let's give peace a chance. Today, I'm also hearing that another 6 MPs from Las Anod town are coming back to Hargeisa. Let's put this all behind us and work together to make our country prosper.

Why don't the United Nations and most countries recognize Somaliland as an independent country? It has its own government, people, and administration, and it has considered itself independent since 1991. What is the issue?

Dear Somalilanders of Reddit, lets all unite under this sub Reddit r/Somalilander

Dear all,

I know one of the main reasons we are all over the place on Reddit is because our official sub Reddit r/Somaliland has been hijacked by a radical person from Somalia who only allows anti Somaliland posts, and mass bans Somalilanders or any foreigner who says a positive word about it, its also full of koonfur anti Somaliland people as you can clearly see from the upvote/downvote ratio for comments and posts.

This was one of the reasons that discouraged me from using Reddit as often, it felt like a hostile place to us Somalilanders, I also totally forgot about my 7 years account here, many Somalilanders stopped using Reddit all together because of this, however other people joined, saw the problem, and created their own subs to tackle this issue, however they didn’t have knowledge about the other subs which kind of created this mess.

I choose this sub because the mod has done a spectacular job moderating and seems like he/she knows what they’re doing, I say this as a mod for r/Soomaaliland and a previous mod for r/SomalilandRepublic. Both which I totally stopped posting at because of the reasons above.

Let’s create a nice community and get landers from other social media like X or Facebook etc to join us. Let’s make this big and stop with the negativity of not using Reddit at all, maybe one day we can get back r/Somaliland.

Shocking news: 14 men gang rape 10 year old girl in the city of Las Anod held by ssc/ Waqooiye Bari militia 🤮

This is not to be confused with the 20 men pictured above that gang raped a girl in Las Anod 2025, here is the details for the incident from last year https://youtu.be/thHC8yUKdaU?si=CCswy8Sbpsy01Lln

Info is still coming from this story.

Its noteworthy that rape cases are at an all time high after the withdrawal of the Somaliland forces from the city, also there was almost 100 cases of assassinations of prominent individuals in Las Anod in just two years, that a stark contrast of the handful of cases during the control of Somaliland where locals fiercely criticized Somaliland at that time for “ not doing enough” yet these same critics are now silent, I wonder why.

Somalia condemns Somaliland for opening an embassy in a foreign country. Where on earth you see a country criticizing “one of its regions” for opening an embassy 😂. They are literally showing the world they are a paper country that only controls one city, Mogadishu.

This guy is saying I don’t care that the Somalia regime genocided 200,000 Somalilanders, they have to support Palestine otherwise they are traitors to the Ummah. I swear the level of hypocrisy of these Islamists is astonishing

look at this disgusting comment beneath from this person from Somalia. The photo is Somalilander school kids standing at the war memorial (one of the literal Somalian planes that carpet bombed Somaliland during the 1988 genocide)
