Accident witness required

Hello UBC.

Were you waiting for the 25 bus to UBC on Monday 22nd June between 8:20 & 8:50 a.m? You might be able to help me!

I was involved in a car accident on Monday 22nd June where a white SUV ran a red light at the Nanaimo & 24th junction and hit the back passenger side of the EVO I was in as I turned left.

When the incident happened, the lady who hit admitted to running the red. I didn’t record this interaction as I was shaken up and not thinking straight. However, the story she has provided to insurance is the opposite and I have been deemed 100% responsible for the accident as I was the left turner. At the scene, She begged me not to go through insurance and settle this privately but because it was an EVO I was driving, I had to run the claim through them.

I am looking for ANY dashcam footage or witnesses for that morning between 8:30 & 8:40 a.m that can help corroborate my account and prove that she is indeed at fault for running that red.

The 25 UBC bound buses were delayed so there was a huge crowd at the bus stop at Nanaimo station. If you’re reading this and witnessed the accident and can confidently recount what happened, please reach out.
