Hi, I have 1.7L Edge rewards on my Magnus LTF which I am trying to use somehow for my upcoming Euro trip in Sep. I am travelling DEL-ZURICH (Sep 25) and then PARIS-DEL (Oct 4). I looked up some redemption options and they look pretty bad eg Etihad wants me to pay some ~24K points (18K onward, 5.5 return) + INR ~50K (19K onward, 30K return) taxes while the cash value itself is only 66K. While the reward rate might not be totally abysmal (~16K INR for 24K * 6% = ~4%) the taxes for the return journey are just too high.

I checked Turkish airlines and Flying Blue and the taxes are not very different. Are there any better options? Is is possible to redeem some of these points towards hotels?

I work at a major financial company where I get a significant portion of my yearly salary as ESOP's. The company is growing pretty fast with an IPO planned in 3-4 years. I am getting an offer with a much higher base salary and I cannot decide if I should stay or switch. I don't have any immediate need for cash or any issues with work culture. Some details below:

Current compensation: 45L (base) + ~10L (cash bonus) + ~20 shares (vested 50% annually starting next year [0% immediately]. Current share price: ~2L, expected to grow to ~4L by 2029)

Unvested shares: 26 (Vesting schedule: 1 in July 2026, 3 each in Sep 2026/27/28/29, 10 in Jan 2027, 2 in July 2027, 4 in Jan 2028)

Offer I am getting right now: 80 LPA (no bonus, no equity)

Should I switch?
