Husband verbally abusing everyday
My husband abuses me almost everyday. I have started fearing him. He is unpredictable. He will lose his shit for anything and everything. It starts with him calling me behn ki lodi and today it escalated to telling me that he is going to break both my legs before leaving me. It was quite graphic. Makes me really uncomfortable to write this.
Both of us are very well educated, struggling professionally at the moment but nothing serious on that front.
He has anger issues I guess and gets upset at his parents and brother as well. So his family knows that he is capable of this.
Coming back to the verbal abuse. So he keeps abusing me and then say that I started it. I did not apply for the job that he had asked me to because I was busy completing another assignment, this led him to call me names and when I said he can't cuss me, he said I started it. Everytimes he ends up blaming me for initiating the argument. He says he is going to slap me etc.
I want to know is this domestic violence? He hasn't slapped me but last time he did hit me on my leg with his plastic chappal which did not hurt me much but the act was pretty violent. He also held me by my hair.
I really don't know what this is legally, domestic violence, harrassment or what?
Also, all I hear is people saying that women are framing men in fake cases, so I feel like nobody will believe me.
Please give me some perspective.
