Job Ghosted Me

Hi all, I am looking to see if I can do anything about this unfortunate situation.

Location: Kentucky

I have lived in Pennsylvania my whole life and over the winter I decided I was over living there. I have always wanted to live in Kentucky so I decided to start applying to jobs there.

I landed an interview with a company down there and it was advertised with a good salary and hours so things were looking promising. We did the zoom interview, it went well, and the next day they called me and offered the position.

Should also mention that they knew I lived in PA and would relocate for this job. So the start date was set to be about 6 weeks later, so give me time to move and settle in.

I signed an employment contract and have the formal letter showing my start date, salary, and hours.

This is where it got fun.. I rented a house and was moving about 6 days before my starting date with the company. I reached out to them the day before I was moving just to touch base and see if I needed anything additional to bring to the workplace for my first day. I didn't hear a peep. I then called about 6 times over the span of 2 days and never heard back.

I am a planner by nature so the whole idea of moving down here without a job was TERRIFYING. I ended up never hearing a word from them and never had my first day (work was hybrid and remote my first couple days of the week) they never sent me any of the log in information and it just sucked to be ghosted. I was unemployed for a couple weeks but ended up finding something different, although a little less pay than I was going to be getting with this other company.

I guess I would just like to know if I can sue them for the crap they pulled on me because it put me in a terrible financial position and caused a lot of stress in an already stressful move.
