What small home automation ended up making the biggest difference day to day?

I used to think robot vacuums were more of a nice to have than a real home upgrade, but my floors always looked a little dusty no matter how often I cleaned, mostly because I would skip annoying spots like under the couch, under the bed, corners, and along the walls. I just didn’t want to drag out a vacuum every day.

So I finally got a robot vacuums a while back. It runs on a schedule, maps the apartment properly, gets into a lot of the areas I used to ignore, empties itself, and handles the mop pads on its own.

It’s made me realize that the best home automation isn’t always the flashy stuff. Sometimes it’s just removing one repetitive chore from your brain completely.

What home upgrade made your life noticeably less stressful?

I used to feel like I was always cleaning but the floors still somehow looked dusty. Under the couch, corners, under the bed… all those annoying low spots just kept getting ignored because I really couldn’t be bothered dragging the vacuum around again.

Ended up getting a robot vacuum a while back and honestly it’s been nice not having to think about cleaning as much anymore. It mapped out the whole place better than I expected and actually gets into a lot of spots I used to skip, especially along the walls and under furniture.

Now I just let it run every day on its own. It empties itself, cleans the mop pads, and I come home to clean floors without really doing anything.

What’s one thing you bought for your home that genuinely made life easier?
