Advice needed with vyvanse and adderall
I recently started on stimulants for the first time at 42, I am also bipolar with anxiety/depression as well, this might have something to do with the effect of the stims.
I started a job where I have to be very focused on my time management and in charge of other people. We started on Adderall IR 10 mg that put me to sleep so then we switched to Vyvanse 50 mg. My focus was absolutely amazing. I was able to concentrate and finish my work, decreased my appetite, stopped my binge shopping.
The problem was I never wanted to leave the house and I never wanted to do anything. Before I started taking Vyvanse, I couldn’t wait to get off work and go and do something. After being on the Vyvanse a while, I didn’t want to do anything after work except lay on the couch. So my doctor added a booster of Ritalin but I had the worst rage I’ve ever had. So we switched to Adderall IR and that helped but still didn’t really wanna leave the house, but it did help the crash that Vyvanse gave me but OMG the LAZINESS!
But at my next appointment, we decided to switch to Adderall XR and I’ve been on 40 mg for about two months with a 20 mg IR booster. My focus is not nearly as good as the Vyvanse. It does give me energy so that is nice. I still don’t really have the desire to go and do anything, but it’s not as bad as the Vyvanse. It’s more like I’d rather lay on the couch, but I would go out and do something if I had to but it’s gotta be good. But one thing I noticed on Adderall is, I could spend hours just scrolling Facebook and just get stuck there which is not like Me. And my binge shopping got worse on it. I am also highly irritable on both meds. I also skip words when typing, but my note taking is amazing.
Any idea what could cause this overwhelming desire to not go and do anything after work?
Could any of my reactions to stims have anything to do with my bipolar disorder, which was controlled prior to the stimulants?
