Customising your bow

How do you customise your bow?

I think I am nearly finished with my first bow, I need to shoot it few hundred times and sand it down before coating it. I am trying to think of something to cusomise it and make it look cooler, besides the handle wrap.

Any advice or experiences you could share? Thank you in advance

Did I make a bow?

I was working on a short self bow 38" and got it shooting good at around 12" draw length. When I measured the string it was a bit under 34".

I know strings for finished bows should be 3-4" shorter than the bow. Did I finish the bow?

If I did, I will post a full bow after shooting it and adding finishing touches.

Thank you for any advice

Bow final draw length

It might be a stupid question.

I have never made a working bow before. The bow I am working on right now is 38 inches (I made a misscalculation before, I thought it was 28). I am afraid of pushing the draw length beyong 13-14 inches, I am afraid of it breaking. Is it ok for bows?

Thank you for any advice

Expert string loop advice

Please reccommend some easy string loops I could use for a tiller string. I tried a lot and I couldnt find any that wouldn't untangle or other stuff.

I might just be with broken hands

Thansk for any advice

String alternatives

Buying the optimal string like Dacon B40 and other are bit expensive and i can't make a string. I tried making a bowstring out of cheap strings just to practice and in the end i just wasted the strings.

Are there any viable alternatives?

I have paracord, but the issue that when i put it on and use for tiller it becomes more stretched. Do i need to make a string 2-4 inches shorter for paracord so it stretches?

Thank you in advance
