Hit and run insurance claim going to make me uninsurable, and it never happened.
I’m in Location: Tx and have been seemingly targeted by an insurance scammer.
About two months ago I was called by an insurance agent and told I had fled the scene of an accident and was being considered at fault for this accident.
I disregarded it as a scam because it never happened, I think I’d know if I hit someone?
That’s when we found an email from them detailing a whole police report and everything had been filed. At that point we knew it wasn’t a scam and started to try and work with them to get it sorted.
The person who claimed this happened and I share the same insurance provider and they’d already paid out their claim when we finally got back to them about a month after the first contact (I thought was a scam)
So now we are playing catch up trying to show them nothing ever happened, completely compliant with their request for pictures of my car and detailed statements of my whereabouts on that day.
My car has zero damage where they claim I hit them, and they aren’t taking that as proof.
