$200 School fee to be repaid by August 31st at $250

Hi guys, I'm Collins, a BSc Computer Science student in my final semester. I am re-taking a unit called MAT 200 Integral Calculus but it costs Ksh 22,000(around 200 USD) at my Uni. I've tried to ask for family support but they all seem to have other commitments. My parents help me with everyday meals but i do manual labor at my neighbours farm in order to pay for my shelter. If anyone can help me clear my school fees it would mean the world to me. I will work everyday to repay it even if it's in small amounts.

Nairobi shamba la mawe!😂

Where do i even start?😂

So, I'm a student about to graduate with a BSc Comp Sci and currently doing freelance work as i search for a full-time job yk. I wouldn't say I've landed a solid gig but I've managed to handle a single project from a client on Reddit.

So, yesterday, nikaamua kusearch for fellow techies on different subs(wakenya ofc) and i found this guy talking about working as a techie in a medical facility.

Ndo huyo mimi, i dm him and start by introducing myself. The guy is professional ofc na akinisho kuna some positions huko but says that he doesn't trust redditors. So i ask for his email and send my proposal, qualifications blah blah blah.

The guy replies on reddit and refers me to another reddit user lets call him Dr.X

I proceed to let Dr.X know of our conversation and he tells me he's aware and has already scheduled a zoom meeting for the next day. I thank him. He tells me he's out of the country and that i should share my contact details with the other guy.

I go back to the other guy and immediately he asks if Dr.X asked for 'chai'. So nikamsho' nop, was he supposed to?'

I then share my contact details(email, phone no.) and after a few min i get a call from a number and the guy says it's a wrong number.

So i go back to reddit only to find the guy asking for my Full Names, DOB, ID, KRA pin and that's when i paused😂

Coz who tf asks for those details before you meet them or before you sign a formal contract??

I decide to reply professionally by telling him that I'd be happy to share thee details with them once i have signed a contract or accepted a formal offer.

This was a classic scam and i think all of us should be aware of it. Karibu nikuwe victim on an early Monday morning.🤣

The other day i got a random ssd failure. The ssd is a Toshiba 256gb M.2.

I went to replace it and the price is honestly out of my budget as a student.

If you have a spare ssd lying around dm me with a friendly price. 🙂
