Grinding noise normal?

I just picked up a new o gauge set and noticed a grinding / higher pitch noise when it goes around corners. Is this normal? I’ve only ever ran one other engine and it never made the similar sound:

Wheel size / part number

I recently purchased a used polar express o gauge set 6-31960 at a real nice price. One of the passenger train needs 4 sets of wheels or new trucks whatever makes the most sense. Does any one know the part number or wheel size on these by chance? I wasn’t sure if they were mostly universal or not. Picture example of what I got and one that is working. Thanks.

Transformer vs Bluetooth?

Hello,

I’m looking to purchase a Lionel train set and am primarily deciding between the Polar Express set (6-31960) and the Harry Potter Hogwarts set (685418).

The main difference between the two is that one uses a Bluetooth remote, while the other uses the older-style conventional transformer. I grew up using the traditional transformer, so I don’t really have a preference. However, I’m a little skeptical of the Bluetooth remote because it looks small and somewhat cheap.

I’m trying to keep an open mind about both options, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with both systems. Do you prefer it over the older conventional transformer, and how has your experience been with it?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Shingle lifting

Hi,

I recently had my roof replaced and I noticed along the gutters some lifting of shingles. Is that fairly normal or can it be problematic? I just want to make sure before I sign off on a completion form. Thanks.

How many packs of shingles?

Looking to take on this shed roof replacement and was wondering how many packs of shingles I should buy to safely complete this shed roof? It’s a 10x6. Thank you.
Looking at the GAF HDZ 33.33 packs.

Considering weathered wood shingles

Hello,

I’m trying to decide between GAF Weathered Wood and GAF Barkwood shingles. The roofing company I’m using installs GAF shingles, so those are the two colors I’m considering.

I was wondering if anyone here has firsthand experience with either of these shingles and whether they think they would clash with my current house paint and siding. I’ve noticed that the shingles sometimes look extremely gray in Google images, while other times they don’t. In the pamphlet I received and in the store, they looked fairly dark and not overly gray.

I was hoping someone with firsthand experience could provide some insight on how the colors look in real life and how they’ve held up over time. Thanks for any input!

I’m installing these new led lights. aThe old canisters had a clip on style design for the portion where the old bulb used to plug into. Since they are gone now they free hang.

Will I have any issues heaving the socket connector free ride in the canister or should I revert the change?
