Trash Can Ideas for Dog Waste when Camping???
We are going to a new campsite this summer, it has pit toilets and non-potable water which I am use to both. The difference is this site has no trash area everything is pack in pack out. In prior years, campsites we stayed at had trash on site.
We will be going with our dog, who will no doubt poop during our trip and I am currently trying to figure out the best way to handle this both during our trip and during the pack out part.
My current thought is to buy one of those 5 gallon plastic buckets with lids from home depot and use that as the doggy waste bin. We would pick up his poop using his regular dog bags and tie them off and then place them in the bin. What I am unsure of is would this be relatively smell proof when fully closed - mainly to not attract any animals and when we have to put it in our trunk to drive home.
Open to alternative ideas or suggestions.
