Usmle step 1 failed twice or Amc
I just found out that I failed my second attempt at USMLE Step 1, and honestly I’m still in shock. What makes it harder to process is that I genuinely prepared well this time — my NBME scores were consistently around 70–80%, and I scored 70% on Free 120, so I truly believed I was ready. This result feels devastating because passing Step 1 would have changed a lot for my future. I’m getting married soon, and my fiancé already has his H1B approved and is waiting for the interview slot. We’ve both been trying so hard to build a life together and avoid living separately for years. Right now I’m mentally exhausted and burnt out from this journey, especially from the intense exam pattern and long hours of USMLE exams, and I’m struggling to decide what to do next. I really need honest advice from people who may have been in a similar situation — should I continue the USMLE path despite two failed Step 1 attempts, or would it be wiser to switch to the Australian pathway (AMC), which seems comparatively more manageable and may offer a more practical route for both my career and our future together? Also, if anyone has experience with partners in IT/blockchain moving to Australia based on dependency or work opportunities, I would truly appreciate your insights.
