TAFE QLD- Diploma of Nursing Placement flexibility.
Looking to go back and try and get my nursing degree/diploma at Tafe QLD. But I have concerns about placement flexibility.
I have also looked into Mater Education but its been a week since I emailed them.
I dont have any issues regarding the work or learning, I did 2 years at uni previously but family illness and death cut it short. And at the time I only had one child and it was was all manageable.
Now I have 2 extra kids (eldest one is 18 and no longer lives at home) they are school aged and they go to OSHC afterschool and have access to before school.
My issue is being put on early shifts too far away from their school/OSHC. We do not have family close by, so it's just me and my partner and OSHC for care and OSHC doesnt open until 6am. I can do late shifts but need to be home before he leaves at 5.30am.
And paid time off may not always be guaranteed for him.
Basically im asking if there is any movement or leeway when placement coordinators plan placements or considerations made if I explained my situation.
I dont want to start and then find i cannot attend a 6am shift on the other side of Brisbane. (I live in Ipswich).
