I’m looking for book recommendations that have a similar feel to the Before trilogy (Before Sunrise / Sunset / Midnight).
I really love stories that are more about conversations and connection than plot - something intimate, a bit philosophical, and focused on relationships over time. That quiet, wandering, “just talking about life” kind of vibe.
Some books I’ve enjoyed:
- The Great Gatsby
- The Catcher in the Rye
- The Kite Runner
- A Thousand Splendid Suns
- Norwegian Wood (liked the emotional tone, but not a fan of the explicit parts)
- The Diary of a Young Girl
- Days at the Morisaki Bookshop
- Tuesdays with Morrie
I usually gravitate towards:
- character-driven stories
- strong emotional connection between people
- simple, thoughtful writing
Would love recommendations that feel personal and real - ideally not heavy on explicit content.
Thanks in advance.
