Cancelling my extended warranty
I need some guidance. I purchased my brand new vehicle in November 2025. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with blood cancer and needed to make some big financial changes. I went back to the dealership in person where I purchased the car from in February and explained the situation and I needed to cancel my extended warranty. I brought my contract with me. The finance director had me fill out a form right there. I took a picture of it and handed the filled out form to the finance director. Over 7 weeks later nothing had transpired so I followed up with an email to the finance director and the general manager. The finance director explained she gave me the wrong form, and I’d had to fill out another one. I sent the updated form and I explained that I just lost 7 weeks of reimbursement and I was still getting charged interest due to that error and I would like them to rectify the situation. Silence for 6 days. I followed up again, asking if my updated document had been submitted, and asking if they could verify the date of submission as well as the amount I would be getting. I also asked for a plan regarding making up financially for the administrative error that cost me over 2 months in interest and lost reimbursement. They said they submitted my paperwork but to everything else complete Silence.
I reached out to the general manager directly. Silence. What should I do in this situation since their error has impacted me financially? Not even an I’m sorry. Side note: This is the third vehicle I’ve purchased from this dealership. I’ve never purchased an extended warranty before so I’m not very familiar with this process.
