hello! After 16+ months trying to get a phlebotomy job i finally finally got hired at labcorp!! I'll be a "wellness worker/venipuncture/biometric screener," it's a per diem position that mainly works events for employers. I got invited to an labcorp from event from a recruiter, I passed the venipuncture evaluation and basically got hired on the spot! (so if you ever get an invitation to a venipuncture evaluation/training/hiring event - please go! I had no idea what to expect, I figured it would just be a chance to network)

I'm waiting on the completion of my background check so I have a few more steps before I can actually pick up shifts, but in the meantime I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of position? they gave us a brief overview at the event but it's been over a year since I got my CPT license and I haven't worked in healthcare in a few years so I'm a bit rusty. I'm worried they're just going to throw me in without any training, and I really don't want my first patients to have a bad experience. what's the clientele like, what's the vibe, do you enjoy it?

thank you in advance, and if you're looking for a phleb job please keep trying. I'm im the sf bay area and I had truly just given up and resigned myself to ever getting a foot in the healthcare door. you can do it!
