Taking a sabbatical from Dental Hygiene

Hi all,
I have been in dentistry for 7 years. Four as an assistant and 3 as a hygienist. I’ve had chronic shoulder pain for sometime. But last fall I pinched a nerve in my neck that started a cascade of problems ( I have been in physical therapy since then ). Recently I have been waking up with sore and stiff joints. It doesn’t help that my office does 45 min appointments. Recently my fatigue has gotten so bad that some days I feel like crying by the end. The constant pain and fatigue.
Logically I know it’s time for me to take a break. Even a few weeks would do wonders. But the idea of leaving my job is so daunting. I feel dumb and weak.
Looking for people who did take a short break from hygiene and it DID work out for them.

TLDR: Aches and pains are making me depressed and I want to take a break . Want validation from people who had success taking a short break
