Oska label.
Brighton ( UK ) had a secret. OSKA, the avant-garde chaotic low-fi noise label run by Jod Russell. I heard about them from a guy in Manchester and wrote a letter. A catalogue was sent and I ordered some cassettes. I was head-over-heels with Jods tapes, so much so I sent one to John, it was important he had one. Later, Jod was kind enough to play guitar on our second M-Ways release 'Slippery Trip Hazard'. As time passed I got more and more involved in the Inland Empire and drifted away from Oska into a world of California and personal poverty. Returning one day to check on Jod I was shocked and surprised he had released a Mountain Goats tape ( Yam. ) Did John belong on that label?.. With Merzbow and Neil Campbell? Jods label was perfection, the Mountain Goats with the Panasonic were perfection. Low-fi Sonic Antipodes .... it really happened.
I'm giving this tape away its OSKA 66 NEIL CAMPBELL. Back next Saturday .... as rare as a dwalfs jumper.
