Hey everyone,I’ve noticed my front shifting has become absolute garbage lately. Upon closer inspection, it looks like I’ve actually lost the pickup pins (and the shift ramps are pretty worn/mangled) on my large chainring.
Every bike shop and online retailer I’ve checked only sells the entire chainring as a single unit. Does anyone know if it's even possible to buy just the pins or some kind of DIY replacement kit?
I’m trying to avoid buying a whole new ring since the teeth themselves aren't that worn yet, but it feels like such a waste to toss the metal for two tiny pins.
Has anyone successfully "refurbished" a ramped ring, or is this a lost cause and I just need to bite the bullet on a new chainring? Thanks!
TLDR: The Problem: Chain won't "grab" and move up to the big ring without massive over-shifting.
