I was listening to the episode of Year of Living Dangerously, and was surprised when David was unaware of Man from Snowy River. It was such a staple in my household, but it also felt like practically everyone owned the VHS. Growing up, my sister would often play "Jessica's Theme" on piano, and I even had a student who was adamant that it was "the best movie ever made." I wouldn't say it's one of the all-time greats, but it does seem like it belongs in the "best 80s family/PG movies" conversation.
I wonder if this movie is a cultural thing or even a regional thing, but it was just a shock that he was unaware of it. Obviously, it is impossible to know every movie ever, but did anyone else have similar thoughts?
