University of Sahiwal feel completely dead?

Atp I genuinely want to know if anyone else at the University of Sahiwal feels the same way, out of the picture, cant relate to anyother person because honestly, the more time I spend here, the more I feel like I made the wrong choice. I'm not even talking about the buildings, campus or infrastructure. I'm talking about the overall environment, student culture, academic seriousness and just the general vibe of the place.
The university feels DEAD as hell. You hear "university life" and expect to meet people who are somewhat mature, ambitious and serious about their future and fun to be around. People working on projects, learning programming, , freelancing, startups, research, higher studies, competitions( there is litteraly no competition here), literally anything productive. But here it often feels like people just come to attend classes, hang around, waste time, mess around and go home and repeat, not a single thought forming in their mind
And I'm not saying every single student is like this. There are definitely some good, serious and talented people here but they are like needle in a haystack. The overall culture feels extremely immature and unserious. Ik this uni is already ahh, not a good university at all but still its a university holding sm students from sm places and backgrounds
The student crowd is honestly one of the biggest problems for me. A lot of guys especially are REALLY weird. There's so much unnecessary "shokhi" showing off, trying to look cool not even cool but gangsters and esp making everything about girls. Most people seem ridiculously focused on getting female attention, and you can literally see how differently some guys start behaving the moment a girl is around. It's not even normal interaction anymore. It becomes this whole performance.
And the male-female interaction here is genuinely awkward as hell. I'm not saying guys and girls shouldn't interact. Obviously people should be able to talk normally. But it feels like a lot of people here simply don't know how to have a normal conversation with the opposite gender without making it weird, turning it into gossip, assuming there's some romantic angle or becoming overly thirsty. A simple conversation between a guy and a girl somehow becomes a whole event.
There is also a very noticeable "chapri" culture. Again, not everyone, but enough people that it affects the entire atmosphere. Loud behavior, pointless flexing, trying desperately to look cool, wannabe gangster and omg the abusing among guys us crazy and people caring way too much about appearances and attention. Sometimes it genuinely feels like people are still stuck in their school/college mindset instead of realizing they're in university now.
What bothers me even more is the lack of ambition. I expected university to be the place where I'd meet people who actually have some direction. Someone who's serious about coding. Someone building an app. Someone doing freelancing. Someone preparing for internships. Someone learning AI, cloud, cybersecurity or software development. Someone planning for a master's abroad. Someone starting a business. Ik its a shit university but i had no choice at all so i came here but still guys the university has countless people and almost every other person is weird
a lot of people seem to have absolutely no idea what they're going to do after graduation. Aka dekhi jaigi bs degree chahiye
And maybe that's why the university feels so dead. It's not that there are literally zero opportunities or zero good students no society and no subreddit at all . It's that there doesn't seem to be a strong culture of actually taking advantage of those opportunities.
You should be able to look around your university and find people who motivate you. Someone should be better than you at something and make you think, "Damn, I need to learn that." You should feel pushed to improve because everyone around you is doing something.
Here, I don't really get that feeling.
Academically, I'm disappointed too. There ARE some genuinely good professors, and I don't want to disrespect the ones who actually care about teaching. There are definitely professors who know their subjects and genuinely try to help students. But outside of those few, the overall academic environment doesn't feel particularly serious.
Sometimes it feels like the university is just going through the motions. Attend lectures, take exams, get your degree and become unemployed
And then there's the favoritism issue.
You get the impression that things aren't always purely merit-based. Whether it's marks, attention, opportunities, treatment of students or other university matters, favoritism can make the whole experience even more frustrating. I'm sure every university has some degree of favoritism, but when you're already unhappy with the academic environment, seeing it makes everything feel even worse.
The social environment also feels strange. People don't seem to know how to communicate normally. Either someone is trying too hard to impress people, someone is making everything into a joke, or someone is trying to show off. There doesn't seem to be much genuine conversation.
And I'm not expecting every person here to be some insanely ambitious genius. Obviously people have different personalities and priorities but genuinely people are so bland here
I just want SOME environment that pushes me.
The environment around me doesn't really encourage that.
Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Maybe this is just what universities in smaller cities are like. Maybe I haven't found the right people yet. And honestly, I hope that's the case but idrts
Right now, though, my overall impression of UOS is that it feels more like an extension of college than the university experience I expected. The campus can be full of people and still somehow feel completely dead.
Too much immaturity. Too much showing off. Too much obsession with girls and attention. Too much weird social behavior. Not enough ambition. Not enough academic seriousness. Not enough people thinking about what they're actually going to do with their lives.
And that's honestly depressing when you're spending the next four years of your life there.
I'm genuinely curious about other UOS students and graduates though.
Did anyone else experience this? Did you eventually find a genuinely serious, ambitious circle here, especially in CS/tech? Sahiwal itself has bland people even this Subreddit is lowkey dead idts I'll even get replies
