Hi everyone! I need support. I’m planning on applying to PsyD in Clinical Psychology this year and need support on how to improve my stats. I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in Psychology with a 3.0 GPA. I understand that my undergrad GPA is low, which is why I went back to school for my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a 3.9 GPA. Over the past 3+ years, I’ve took a break from school and developed clinical experience. I worked in agencies and private practices as well as worked alongside Clinical Psychologists. I also have background experience working as a RBT, teacher assistant, academic data specialist, and other medical insurance roles. I’m currently volunteering at a hospital, specifically in the Medical Surgical Unit and volunteering as a Crisis Counselor. I am currently licensed as a counselor, earned several mental health related certifications/ethical trainings through my jobs as a counselor, and specifically trained to utilize MATCH-ATDC. I‘m aware that PsyD is clinical based, but should I build out my research experience more? I’m really nervous about my low undergrad GPA and little experience in conferences/publications etc. What do PsyD programs really look for? I need support so please be nice and provide feedback that can help me (:
