As the title and my previous post said, my Lyra has malocclusion. I took her to the exotic vet and they were filing her teeth.

She has medical food and I give her meloxoral (or meloxonal ?).

My question is : how long will it take for her to get better ?

She keeps drooling and the vet said it was normal (side effect of the medicine). But im still scared for Lyra...

Her poops are normal, and she keeps eating what I give her.

Thank you for helping me

Hello, sadly, this title is the reason I wrote this post.

I discovered my chinchilla has malocclusion and I took her to her vet. She cut her incisives and said to wait 1 or 2 weeks. The reason : X ray and other exams didn't show any problems with molars.

But there is a chance she has molar malocclusion.

So... it's a really hard time for me and her. She eats her pellets (I crush it into a powder and mix with water) + oxbow care.

Her behaviour is the same, always my speedy girl, always curious and playfull.

But all I do is crying because I feel I have to say her "goodbye".

She's only 5 yo and I feel like a sh*t because I think "i dont so enough for her".

My heart is broken, very hard.

I keep an eye on her but damn... it's so painful this situation.

I needed to talk about it.

Thank you for reading me.

PS : the photo was token when I was cleaning her cage. She kept an eye on the process (she validated the cleaning)
