I hate these disgusting things (RE4R)

I hate these disgusting things (RE4R)

Listen I’m not afraid of insects that much (source: trust me bro). But when I played 4 Remake and fought these bug humanoid things the first time, I was honestly freaked out by them. They caught me off guard with their camouflage half the time (though other times they’re too obvious). And they crawl and then fly and like to sneak up on you (esp. during Mercenaries mode). Well done Capcom, you finally made a bug enemy I’m genuinely disgusted and annoyed with 🤣

I think both versions of Leon Kennedy are dope. People argue that OG is better because he has more flaws and personality to him. Like him being late to his first day as a cop in the OG 2 game was due to him drinking away his sorrows from a breakup the night prior is hilarious but telling of who he is as a person (and how he was easily swayed and fooled by Ada). But at the same time, I dig how his sense of responsibility and kindness in 2 remake is what compelled him to go to Raccoon City even though he was told to await further orders. Ada using him still works because he isn’t fooled by her charm (mostly) but because he’s naive.

In OG 4, his one liners are hilarious (as always) and iconic and I see a lot of fans of the original mad about it not being prominent in the remake. But for 4 Remake, it makes sense for Leon to be more traumatized and serious and not joke around that much.

As someone who only played the remakes, I clearly don’t have that nostalgia nor bias towards the classic versions of the games but I do respect them. But I also think the remakes do well to re-characterize Leon for a modern audience without making it seem like fans lost something from it
