Hello,

I’ve had an LG 27GS95QE for just over a year now. Although it’s a good monitor, I’d like to try a glossy alternative, since I’ve never used one before and I’ve read about its benefits.

I’m debating whether to buy the LG 27GX704A-B now, or wait a bit for the ASUS XG27AQWMG to drop in price a little. I know the differences between the two, though I’m no expert on the subject. The LG seems better in terms of brightness and color accuracy, though it may have vertical banding issues (I don’t know to what extent the new ASUS firmware improves the banding, or if using a lower refresh rate helps—which doesn’t matter to me since I don’t play at high refresh rates).

Both have a glosy coating, but I’m not sure if the ASUS XG27AQWMG still has some haze. Here’s the RTINGS comparison with another ASUS True Glossy monitor as an example:

Is the LG 27GX704A-B similar? I’d look for the image on RTINGS, but unfortunately it’s now a paid service, though I understand why that is.

Another option might be to wait for a 27" glossy OLED Tandem from LG, but we don't know if they're working on something like that either.

Thanks in advance.
