I still feel like I’m processing this so I wanted to share in case anyone else goes through this. I am 32 weeks and six days with my second baby, my first is an amazing 2 1/2 year-old girl who cannot wait to be a big sister.
I went in for a routine prenatal visit and my blood pressure read too high, I believe it was 150 something and I was very anxious, I had told the nurse I was going to be anxious and to recheck it… The doctor suggested that I go to labor and delivery to get blood work done and some more tests. I retested in the nurses office and my reading went down to 119! My readings have been normal this entire pregnancy, but I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten more anxious as the weeks I’ve gotten farther along because in my first pregnancy I was introduced to 38 weeks due to high blood pressure which they labeled this preeclampsia, even though there was no protein in my urine. I was so worried I was being induced today. I felt sick. I made my husband leave work to come meet me at the delivery for, thankfully my blood work came back all fine all clear my blood pressure was within normal range not to be concerning and my pulse was high but the nurses and doctors knew I had anxiety.
All this to say, I’m so grateful to be home, and if this happens to you, you might get to go home too.
I am grateful to have had the bloodwork done and now just need to work on relaxing and not letting the stress of these BP tests cause an anxiety spiral.
