⚠️ WARNING: The CoinJoy "$15 Download" is using stolen Prime Opinion & Poll Pay screens.
I spend a lot of time auditing get-paid-to apps to see what actually works, and I had to issue a massive warning about CoinJoy. They are currently running ads everywhere promising a $15 payout just for downloading, but it's a complete trap.
I dug into their ads, and they are using what I call a "Franken-ad" technique:
- Stolen Identity 1: The colorful "P" logo they use in their ads belongs to Poll Pay. CoinJoy has absolutely no affiliation with them.
- Stolen Identity 2: The actual survey interface they show in the video ad is a ripped screen recording from Prime Opinion.
They use this borrowed trust to get you to download. Once you are in, the $15 payout threshold is mathematically rigged so you never actually reach it, essentially turning your phone into an unpaid ad-farm for them.
How to protect yourself: If you already downloaded it, go into your phone settings immediately and reset your Advertising ID to limit what they can track going forward.
Safer Alternatives: If you want apps that actually pay out, stick to platforms running on the Social Loop infrastructure (like Eureka Surveys, Survey Pop, or Survey Spin) or reputable gaming reward apps like Scrambly and JustPlay.
