WOW
So I made a post last week asking for input between a D500 and a D850. Previously I had been using a D5600, and well…I just bought the D850. All I can say is WOW this really is a night vs day difference. Obviously I am nowhere near perfect with this camera and have everything to learn still but I didn’t want to do the whole gradual steps towards the big guns thing so I just went all in and pulled some savings.
This thing is a beast!!!
I ended up choosing the 850 over the 500 because I will be using it for Astro, landscape and street as well where the d850 excels. And the 3 FPS difference isn’t a huge deal for me anyways as I never really liked burst fire(nothing against it) I like the challenge of trying to time it perfectly
D850 using the 200-500 5.6 ED VR
Edit: Forgot to mention that the camera being so hefty really helps to counterbalance the weight of the zoom lens. It’s sooo much more manageable
Hey all!
I’ve been using a D5600 for the last year(first camera) and have quickly outgrown it and am in search of faster AF for bird-in-flight photography. D5600 is a great camera but it has its resonable shortcomings when it comes to its 39-point AF. I have grown rather irritated and disappointed with the AF on it when trying to capture birds catching fish etc…
I did some reading through other posts and online and it seems like without switching my lens system (or breaking the bank entirely) the best bet is to do the 500 or 850…. Does anyone have any final thoughts on that?
Any pictures you have of b-i-f on the 500 or 850 would be greatly appreciated!!
