TSA Groping at PDX
I'm just going to call it what it is: we ostomates are being groped (at least I was) by the TSA because we have a medical device. Somehow, the presumption is that because we have an ostomy we might have a bomb in our pants. But why are we ostomates - because we have poop in a bag instead of inside our body - more likely to possess a bomb over someone who hasn't been surgically altered? Why can't the bomber put the bomb up their butt, for example?
I documented my experience at Portland International Airport, which I titled "Groped by the Government" but I'll just give you the bullet points for now. (The entire report is 1600 words).
Briefly, the agent's hands were all over me and touched my testicles multiple times. As well as my penis (back of his hand). In front of waiting passengers. I would compare it to a police pat down.
I don't know if my experience was an outlier or a rogue agent or a sign of things to come but it was more invasive than the last time I went through security.
I guess get TSA pre-check if you can or else be prepared for a procedure best left for a "massage" parlor.
