Does it get easier with strange men?/just a vent rant

Today at the climbing gym I decided to try some weighted pull-ups.

I grabbed the belt and a 10kg plate, whilst putting it on I noticed three guys (friend group, they seemed around 30+) stop their gym workout and look at me, they were hitting each other and laughing whilst staring at me. This already made me feel uncomfortable but I just ignored them and continued preparing myself.

I then go to the pull-up bar (which is in the middle of the room so you can stand on either side of it) and they decided to stand right in front of it staring at me in silence as I do my pull-ups. Whilst doing them I’m staring at them as they’re in front of me, and they’re all just looking at me with these faces: 😐😒

At first I thought maybe they were just surprised I could do weighted pull-ups or maybe they were worried I was going to hurt myself so were on standby just in case I needed help but instead when I finished my sets, they gave me one last dirty look and walk off out the gym section without saying anything.

It was such a weird experience, overall uncomfortable and I can’t stop replaying their faces in my head. Do you ever get used to moments like these/start to fully ignore it? I’ve had weird experiences with guys in bouldering gyms before but this was a first!
