Am I making a mistake focusing on Python backend?

I’m a TI/CS student at a technical high school, and I feel like what they teach isn’t enough for the job market.
I already know how to use Git and GitHub, I can code in Python, and I also know MySQL.

Right now I’m learning HTML and CSS because they’re mandatory subjects in my course, but honestly I don’t really enjoy front-end development. On the other hand, I recently started watching some FastAPI tutorials on YouTube and I’m really enjoying back-end development.

My concern is going too deep into Python and ending up falling behind because of performance limitations or market demand. I’m also learning C++ for my Data Structures class.

What do you think my next steps should be? What would be the best things to focus on right now?
