legality of shooting without permission
I'm trying to shoot a very small project with a couple mates over the summer, taking advantage of some proper equipment we have access to for about a month. so far it's been an absolute slam dunk, but the local council for one of the locations has told us we'd need to pay about £200 for the location of our opening scene. it's quite a pivotal scene and a pivotal location, so there aren't all that many alternatives. considering the size of the production, just 5 of us at the location for maybe 3 or 4 shots, it's very unlikely we'd attract attention on the shoot itself if we were to go ahead without a permit. my main worry is what legal repercussions would be taken against me if it were to be noticed in festival runs. does anyone have any advise to get around this? what am I risking if I go ahead anyway?
