Hey Asheville,

In late June/early July 2026 we're in the process of opening a pottery studio in Woodfin for people who want to make some pottery in a cozy, industrial, 100 year old space. It's called Maxwell Pottery Studio, named after my little dog, max.

Here's some info about the space. It's for people who want to:

  • Have 5,400 square feet of open space to create pottery
  • Be there literally whenever, depending on membership
  • Have their pieces fired in a kiln (no square inch requirements)
  • Be able to bring their dog to chill with them
  • Have access to a 3D printer for custom ribs, molds, slip casting forms, etc.
  • Be in walking distance from the French Broad and a little cute coffee shop with picnic tables
  • Park for free at any time

Beginners are welcome of course, as well as people who already know their way around a pottery studio. There will only be a certain amount of members, and we'll contact everyone in order to book a tour once we're officially open. There's a quick form on the website, we'll put your name down, and you'll be one of the first to get a casual look at the space to see if it's right for you.

(pics are the space with no equipment, we are hooking up everything & painting as we speak, will post updated pics soon)
