I recently installed a pedal booster, connected only to the accelerator pedal harness (no OBD connection, no other wiring changes).
Right after starting the car following the install, my Kenwood head unit did not turn on 😢. Instead, I started seeing the OEM PCM menu options again, such as Navigation and Phone (it says “no signal”), which I normally do not see with the Kenwood unit installed.
While trying to troubleshoot, I turned the car off and removed/reinstalled the B10 fuse. After doing that, the Kenwood unit started working perfectly while the car is asleep.
However, the moment I wake the car up — whether by pressing the unlock button, opening the door, or turning the ignition on — the unit immediately shuts off.
It does not wait until engine crank; it turns off as soon as the vehicle modules wake up.
I also tried disconnecting the battery for around 25 minutes and reconnecting it, but the issue remains exactly the same.
Would really appreciate any help or suggestions on what to check next.
