Hi All,
It looks like there are lots of knowledgeable people in this sub on Cancun resorts, so I would love to pick your brains. I am traveling to Cancun with my daughter in July. I know this is the height of sargassum season and perhaps not ideal on the weather, but it’s the only time we can go. I am trying to figure out the best AI resorts for us. I have booked a refundable 4 nights at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach and 2 nights at Hyatt Ziva. Both can be cancelled up to a week in advance. Are these the best options for us? Our priorities are as follows:
- Swimmable beach. I know this may be the worst time to go for beach time, but I’m really hoping for swimming and lounging on a sandy beach.
- Decent pools- just in case the beach isn’t swimmable
- Good food
- Comfortable room/bed
- Fun things for my daughter and I to do? Very open to options here. She likes all the teen things, and could absolutely get into a game room, dance party, or anything of interest to a 14-year-old.
She’s obviously too old for the kids club options, so I’m wondering if this may be the wrong resort for us. Would it be better to stay up near Costa Mujeres at a newer, perhaps quieter resort and check out some excursions? (Snorkeling, cenotes, Isla Mujeres?)
Thanks so much in advance for any insight any of you want to share!
