Has anyone at Laurier successfully petitioned for a course substitution or exception for MA101 (Calculus I for Natural Sciences), especially in Geography/Geomatics or a non-math-heavy BSc program?
I’ve completed the rest of my degree, including upper-year GIS/spatial analysis courses and MA102, and I already have graduate school lined up for Fall 2026. I’m currently speaking with advising, but I’m trying to understand whether Laurier has ever approved alternative quantitative pathways, substitutions, or petitions in situations like this.
Not looking to bypass academic standards, just trying to understand whether there are precedents or alternative options available since it has been a few years since I took calc and dont think I could pass it.
