Robert half question again

I was hired through Robert Half for a temp-to-hire AP Specialist role starting January 8th, with an original end date of May 22nd. Now that the end date is coming up, I’ve been told the contract may be extended through September. (Robert half rep)

I’m at a point where I don’t really see myself continuing as a temp that long, especially since I also have a union job. I’ve enjoyed the work and the experience, but I’m really trying to understand if there’s a path to being hired on full-time with the company.

This is my first non union job after college in nyc pay is dirt and I’m seeing the backend… of what they’re paying them 💀

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation how did you go about having that conversation with the company directly? Did you ask your manager, or wait for the agency to handle it?

Just trying to make the best decision moving forward.
